As Adi Dassler always strove to make the newest and best products. Due to his motivation there are plenty of products that were key in his companies success. In 1925 it all started with the gebruder dassler schuhfabrik 'rennschuh' sprint shoe. The cleat was designed for sprinting and medium distance running up to 800m. It introduced the spike plates. The materials also include goatskin and vegetable tanned leather.
In 1936 Adidas produced the modell waitzer shot put shoe worn at the Olympic games in Berlin. These shoes were specialized for hans woellke who won shot put in Berlin in 1936. This shoe introduced the strap for stability. The heel is made of natural crepe.
This shoe was made in 1948 and was the very first shoe to display the famous three stripes. Adi Dassler experimented before with one and 2 stripes for stability. He then tried four, five , and even six stripes before he found the perfect look and stability with the three stripes which also became the famed logo of Adidas from there on out.
The Azteca-Gold shoe was worn by american sprinter James Ray in the 1968 Olympic games in Mexico City. Hines won gold in the 100m with a world record of 9.95 at the time. He also won gold in the 4x100m relay. These shoes were special because they changed the view on shoes. It was bright colored which is widely worn today and had the famous three stripes on the side. The shoe had 6 spikes and due to a special request by the athletes it had a 3/4 sole fully padded.
